We’d never bunched our music together for an all-in-one digital release that could be made available on multiple platforms. Enter “Gathered Tracks,” which compiles the three Leila M. & Tired of Triangles songs that have been unleashed so far while also offering up something new.

“The Drowned World” starts things off, presented here in its original mix. The song uses otherworldly sounds to conjure up the mood of J.G. Ballard’s book of the same name. It might also have import as a track foreshadowing the more severe effects of climate change in the non-fictional realm we all inhabit.

Then we have “Intertwined Destines,” which deals with liberation and the blending of cultures, and “Crimson Gold,” which provides a condensed soundtrack of sorts to the Jafar Panahi film of the same name. The two songs are from the first Kaji-Pup Records release, but are presented here in new and improved, alternates mixes. This time around, the fuzz guitar on each has been given a more rounded, bassier resonance, especially on “Crimson Gold.” Leila’s vocals have been turned up. The Persian tanbur is mixed louder and brighter on “Intertwined Destinies,” but made quieter, to function more percussively, on “Crimson Gold.” There are other tiny tweaks that bring forth more clarity but without losing touch of the spirit and sound of the originals.

All of this has been remastered in 24-bits in 2023, paired with a cover painting by Leila, and is available in your format of choice on Bandcamp. It's also on iTunes, and streamable on Spotify and TIDAL. We hope you enjoy it.
